Update Of Progress Following Factory Fire At Amfin

Friday 14th May 2010

Abbey Metal Finishers Company Ltd (Amfin) is delighted to confirm progress towards re-establishing Masking, Blasting, Bonding and Painting services in Nuneaton. With the return of utilities we have over the last 5 days thoroughly cleaned all departments and have taken the opportunity to re-decorate. All efforts are now focused on installation of equipment and preparation for audits by OEM’s and customers.

The support of Amfin’s parent Camellia PLC has ensured all employees are retained and authorisation has been given to seek temporary and permanent facilities. Amfin is working with several organisations to find new premises, whilst we re-establish our business.

Unfortunately fire damage to the anodising and plating departments is beyond repair and a decision in conjunction with our insurance company is to demolish this part of the facility. We are pleased to confirm a project manager has been appointed to oversee this activity leaving Amfin management to focus on development plans.

We will write to each customer listing the parts we had on site as of 22nd April 2010. Where possible we will identify which material was lost and which material remains undamaged.  Undamaged parts will be return with a COC confirming the last operation completed and future operations to be completed, this process will continue for the near future. Please note Amfin Insurance Brokers (Willis) recommend customers talk to their own insurance brokers or contact Willis directly, our claims Director is Richard Henton who can be contacted on hentonrj@willis.com

As we develop our recovery plans and confirm time lines for action we will post news to our Amfin website: www.amfin.co.uk.

Please note the only number available to the Amfin switch board will be: 02476 350444.

We assure you the entire Amfin team is focused on working cohesively with our OEMs and you, our customers to recover our services as quickly as time will allow.
