Specialist ALOCROM 1200 conversion coating services
Alocrom 1200 is a hexavalent conversion coating commonly used across the engineering world, often referred to as Alodine 1200 outside the UK or Chromate. Its purpose is to increase the corrosion protection of Aluminium and Aluminium alloys.
The process is performed by immersion or swab and can range in colour from a light golden iridescence to brown, depending on immersion time as per specification and application of finished component.

Corrosion resistance
Heavier applications of Alocrom 1200 can be used for components where corrosion protection is the main objective.
- Provides good adhesion for paint.
- Has a deeper gold to brown colour.
- Meets 168 hours salt spray corrosion test requirements
- Complies to global standard & MIL-DTL-5541 Type 1 Class 1A

Lighter applications of Alocrom 1200 can improve corrosion protection of Aluminium components
Whilst still allowing electrical conduction (commonly used on bonding points throughout the aerospace industry).
